Supporting a Healthy Weight

We understand that every individual’s journey to health and wellness is unique, which is why our doctors collaborate with you to develop a personalised plan that aligns with your weight goals and lifestyle.

What to Expect

Through a structured and supportive process, our Weight Loss & Management programme is designed to help you understand your health, explore treatment options, and take confident steps toward achieving your weight goals.

Our weight loss programme begins with a thorough assessment with one of our experienced doctors. During this appointment, we will review your medical history, lifestyle, and weight loss goals to determine your suitability for treatment with weight loss medication.

We are pleased to offer Mounjaro (tirzepatide) as a treatment option for patients facing challenges with weight loss. This treatment is offered following the detailed medical assessment to confirm clinical suitability, and is delivered as part of a programme that includes guidance on nutrition and physical activity. By integrating these elements, we aim to provide a holistic approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.

We schedule an initial follow-up consultation to occur four weeks after your initial assessment so we can monitor your progress. During this consultation, we assess any side effects and discuss your experience with the treatment, adjusting the dosage as necessary to optimise effectiveness and minimise discomfort.

Follow-up consultations are scheduled on a monthly basis, or as deemed appropriate by your doctor, depending on your individual progress. These regular reviews allow your doctor to closely oversee your journey, ensuring that your treatment remains effective, medically appropriate, and well-tolerated throughout.

Our Weight Loss & Management programme is available for £325, which includes the initial assessment, treatment plan and initial follow-up consultation.

*The programme price does not include the cost of the medication, ongoing follow-up consultations, additional tests, and referrals.

Additional Information

Mounjaro is the brand name for the active ingredient tirzepatide. This medication works by mimicking the action of GIP (gastric inhibitory polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which help to regulate blood sugar levels and appetite.

This dual action makes it a powerful tool for managing both diabetes and obesity. Patients using Mounjaro often report feeling more satisfied with smaller portions and experiencing fewer cravings, which can significantly aid in weight loss efforts.

Mounjaro is licensed to help with weight management (in conjunction with dietary measures and increased physical activity) for individuals with a BMI of 27 kg/m2 or more in the presence of at least one weight-related co-morbidity (such as high cholesterol / high blood pressure / elevated cholesterol), or for those with a BMI of 30 kg/m2 or more.

The most common side effects of weight loss medication pens may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach (abdominal) pain, and constipation. They tend to settle within a couple of weeks and most people tolerate these medications well.

Weight loss medications may cause serious side effects, including:

  • Inflammation of your pancreas (pancreatitis). Stop using weight loss pens and call your doctor immediately if you have severe pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that will not go away, with or without vomiting. You may feel the pain from your abdomen to your back.
  • Changes in vision in people with diabetes. Tell your health care provider if you have changes in vision during treatment with weight loss pens
  • Low blood sugar in people with diabetes (hypoglycaemia). Your risk for getting low blood sugar may be higher if you use weight loss pens with another medicine that can cause low blood sugar, such as a sulfonylurea or insulin. Signs and symptoms of low blood sugar may include: dizziness or Iight-headedness, blurred vision, anxiety, irritability or mood changes, sweating, slurred speech, hunger, confusion or drowsiness, shakiness, weakness, headache, fast heartbeat, and feeling jittery.
  • Kidney problems. In people who have kidney problems, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting may cause a loss of fluids (dehydration), which may cause kidney problems to get worse. It is important for you to drink fluids to help reduce your chance of dehydration.
Serious allergic reactions. Stop using weight loss pens and get medical help right away if you have any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat; problems breathing or swallowing; severe rash or itching; fainting or feeling dizzy; or very rapid heartbeat.
  • Gallbladder problems. Gallbladder problems have happened in some people who take weight loss pens. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop symptoms which may include: pain in your upper stomach (abdomen), fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), or clay-coloured stools.
